Peace condition from the Kremlin: Ukrainian army must withdraw completely from Donbass

Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitriy Peskov refused to disclose the details of the "Anchorage Formula" on the table for the resolution of the conflicts in Ukraine, stressing that the main condition of peace is the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from Donbass. Ahead of the critical trilateral summit in Abu Dhabi, Moscow reiterated the message that a long-term stability will not be possible until the territorial problem is resolved.
Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitriy Peskov refused to share with the public the details of the "Anchorage Formula", which came to the fore in the negotiations to end the conflict in Ukraine.
However, Peskov put forward the complete withdrawal of the Ukrainian army from the Donbas region as a critical and indispensable condition for the establishment of peace.
The Kremlin Spokesperson stressed that it would not be correct to go into the details of the negotiated items at this stage.
Peskov said, "We do not want to enter the details of the negotiations in public. Therefore, I cannot and will not say exactly what is meant by the 'Anchorage Formula'" he said.
Reminding Moscow's main demand, Peskov stated that Russia's position is clear.
"Russia's position is well known: The Armed Forces of Ukraine and Ukraine should leave the territory of Donbas," the spokesperson said. Peskov also pointed out that there are other nuances on the negotiation agenda.
Zelenski: Donbass is in the center of the table
Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski stated on January 23 that the Donbass issue will be at the center of the trilateral talks between Ukraine, Russia and the USA in Abu Dhabi.
According to the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, at the summit in Abu Dhabi, the scenario of Ukraine handing over parts of Donbass that are not under the control of the Russian army, receiving large-scale financing and security guarantees in return, will be discussed.
